Call for abstracts
Lund University Research Conference Knowledge for Sustainable Development – Breaking Barriers to Climate Solutions
We welcome researchers from Lund University and University of Cambridge to submit their research contributions relating to sustainable development.
The research contributions will be presented orally during one of the thematic parallel sessions ‘Energy transition’, ‘Biodiversity and climate’ or ‘Adaptation, loss and damage’. Researchers from University of Cambridge are allowed to choose to give their presentation either on site or digitally, whilst researchers from Lund University are expected to give their presentations on site. Early career researchers are particularly encouraged to present their findings.
The deadline to submit an abstract is October 13 2025.
Abstract submission
At this conference, we ask researchers at Lund University and University of Cambridge for research contributions that relate to the theme of the conference and to one of the thematic sessions. Accepted researchers will get a 5 minute oral presentation to be used as an inspirational case of scientific development within that session. All scientific disciplines are welcomed and encouraged to submit abstracts. An equal amount of presentation opportunities will be given between the two participating universities as far as it is possible.
Please note that only one abstract contribution as lead author will be accepted (you can contribute to more than one as co-author).
General information
The research contributions will be evaluated by the scientific committee. Contributions received after the submission deadline cannot be accepted and therefore will not be considered for the programme. Submission of an abstract does not guarantee its acceptance. By submitting a contribution, the author authorises the organisers to publish his/her contribution during the conference. Presenting authors are acting on behalf and with consent of all authors of the contribution.
All presenters of accepted abstracts are expected to register at the conference website. The registration opens in September, 2025.
The scientific contributions will be evaluated by a scientific committee, with members from the Lund University Research Board, the Sustainability Forum steering committee, and researchers at Lund University and University of Cambridge.

The registration to join the conference will open in September. It will be possible to attend the conference both on site and online.
