About the PhD conference

New ideas and research are needed to identify and solve complex societal challenges. The PhD conference is an opportunity to encourage interdisciplinary cooperation in order to further academic research on all aspects of sustainability.

The aim with the conference is to showcase ongoing research and offer a networking opportunity for PhDs with similar interests in sustainable development from the whole of Lund University. It will be a space to meet and share ideas and research, and hopefully strengthen existing as well as generate future cooperation across disciplines, departments and faculties.

The PhD Conference on Sustainable Development of 2021 included programme and event topics such as Sustainable land use and food production, Governance for sustainability, Performances to explore sustainability issues, Sustainable technology and innovation, Reducing inequality - leave no one behind and Imagining the sustainable city.

More about the conference programme

We invite panels, papers, posters and other activities. You can suggest whole panels with fellow PhD students discussing research papers, or round-table panels on a specific topic or theme. You can organise a knowledge sharing session, have a walk and talk, submit an individual paper or poster, propose an artistic/cultural activity, an exhibition, living labs, videos, or something else. Be creative!

We will provide a meeting space on campus at the Department of Political Science with opportunities for conference participants to meet, network, and exhibit their work, performance or poster. It will also be possible to schedule online activities. We will not offer hybrid solutions.

Please contact the organising team about your suggestions

There is no conference fee.

The conference will be held on 6 October and 7 October until lunch at Eden, Department of Political Science, Allhelgona kyrkogata 14, Lund. All sessions will be on site.
