Roundtable discussion: 'The most inclusive COP ever' - reality or an empty promise?

Before the COP26 in Glasgow, the COP-President Alok Sharma embraced the conference as 'The most inclusive COP ever'. In a time of COVID precautions and travel restrictions, organizing a global climate summit has required even more extensive planning in trying to bring the world together. Yet, not everyone has been invited or able to attend the conference in Glasgow, and several voices feel like they have been excluded. Even those who made it to the conference are not part of the negotiations on equal terms.
The Sustainability Forum invites you to a discussion regarding inclusivity in COP26, but also within the broader work on climate change. The dialogue will focus on reviewing the voices heard at COP26, while discussing to what extent diversity and the inclusion of various actors was guaranteed. Our three panelists Billy Jones, Natalia Rubiano Rivadeneira and Micol Zubrickaite have all been present at either COP26 in Glasgow or the pre-COP26 in Milan. Billy and Natalia are both PhD candidates at Lund University and Micol is a current student at LU. Together they will delve deeper into the issues of inclusivity in COP26, based on their own experiences and observations - while discussing whether it really has been 'the most inclusive COP ever'. Their experiences will provide valuable lessons on how we can make the fight against climate change more inclusive in general, and what role inclusion plays in the notion of sustainability. The discussion will be moderated by Ludwig Bengtsson Sonesson, former youth representative at COP and student at LU.
Coffee/tea and vegetarian sandwich will be served. Pre-registration needed.
