New call for Pathfinder Projects - deadline September 30

The new project call from Climate-KIC for 2016 is aimed at shorter projects – so called ”Pathfinders”, which can last for up to six months, and can have a budget up to €50k. Researchers at Lund University are eligible to apply.
Pathfinder Call from Climate-KIC
The Pathfinder call is meant to enable Climate-KIC Partners to build consortia and work together in a structured way to identify and confirm  innovation opportunities. The projects should be quick (maximum 6 months) and we anticipate all projects to be in the range of Euro 15K-30K. Up to a maximum of Euro 50K is available for the most complex innovation opportunities. The third and last call for Pathfinder Projects in 2016 is now launched with a deadline of 30 September for submission of proposals. This Call for Project proposals is open only to Climate-KIC partners. Please see the recent news article from Climate-KIC.

Themes

With this call, Climate-KIC invites and supports its partner community to investigate innovation opportunities which address the challenges and priorities in the following 4 thematic areas:

  • Urban Transitions
  • Sustainable Land Use
  • Sustainable Production Systems
  • Decision Metrics & Finance

Pathfinder projects confirm an innovation opportunity, matching the supply side discoveries and the demand-side need.

Process

The review process will take approximately 2 weeks with final decisions and award letters expected to be issued mid to end October. The evaluation process will have an integrated approach, to ensure balanced representation of local and theme interests. The two step selection process is:

Step 1 pre-selection: Innovation pipeline managers score projects according to criteria with the support of the Theme team to ensure strategic fit.
Step 2: Pathfinder Board reviews recommendations of Step 1 and takes final decision (Pathfinder Board members are Thematic and Geographic Directors)
